Frank Lloyd Wright's
Carl Schultz House

The Carl Schultz House was the last Wright-designed building in Michigan.
The expansive 3,850 square-foot four-bedroom residence expresses
the culmination of the mature Wright Usonian style.

But unlike most of Wright's Usonian designs, which typically
hug a horizontal landscape, the Schultz house is sited
at the edge of a neighborhood and on the crest of a steep ravine.

The focal point of the design is a cantilevered terrace that
dramatically juts from the bluff and overlooks
the St. Joseph River 80 feet below.
